Witchery is a proud supporter of the Australian wool industry and local merino wool production. As a result, we’re taking a proactive approach to source non-mulesed or ceased-mulesed wool where possible, this is how:
Responsible Wool Strategy:
As part of Witchery’s commitment to achieve greater traceability within our supply chain, we are pleased to be working closely with our wool suppliers to improve sourcing standards and ensure all animals in our supply chain are treated humanely and with respect. We support a transition away from the practice of mulesing in Australia and are committed to working with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of animal welfare and sustainable land management practices.
In addition to ensuring our suppliers adhere to the Code of Conduct and Animal Welfare Policy, we also have the following time-bound commitments:
By winter 2021, all pure wool Witchery products will be verified non-mulesed or from farms that have ceased the practice of mulesing.
By winter 2023, all wool-rich Witchery products (with 30% wool composition or more) will be verified non-mulesed or from farms that have ceased the practice of mulesing.
By winter 2025, all pure wool and wool-rich Witchery products will be fully traceable, non-mulesed and certified by a credible third party to ensure high animal welfare standards and sustainable.
